Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher filed a civil rights lawsuit Wednesday in New York Southern District Court on behalf of Antonio Nevels. The suit accuses rehab center Create Inc. and transitional living shelter Create Young Adult Residences of negligence for failing to properly screen residents for weapons. Nevels was a resident of Create Young when he was stabbed several times while sleeping. The suit also bring claims against the City of New York and other defendants for alleged wrongful arrest and deprivation of prescribed medications after the stabbing. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendants. The case is 1:21-cv-10074, Nevels v. City Of New York et al.
