PacificNorthwest Naturals was hit with a false advertising class action Tuesday in New York Eastern District Court over its ‘Genius Brand’ extended-release caffeine supplements. The complaint, filed by Bursor & Fisher, accuses the defendant of falsely marketing its pills as superior to standard caffeine supplements when studies have found no difference in the effects. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendant. The case is 1:21-cv-05960, Akbar v. PacificNorthwest Naturals LLC.
