Timothy Sini, Suffolk County’s district attorney, has been elected the next president of the District Attorneys Association of the State of New York, a powerful organization that helps influence criminal justice policies and procedures and that is chiefly composed of the state’s 62 independently elected district attorneys.

In a statement announcing his election, Sini, who was selected via a bipartisan vote of DAASANY members, emphasized that his “top priority” as the organization’s president will be “to continue to push for much-needed changes to the recently enacted bail and discovery laws.”
