Colinford Mattis of Pryor Cashman and registered attorney Urooj Rahman were arrested and charged with damaging New York City Police Department vehicles with Molotov cocktails during protests in Brooklyn.
A letter to U.S. District Judge Brian Cogan of the Eastern District of New York filed Thursday confirmed that two attorneys accused of firebombing an empty New York City Police Department vehicle during protests for racial justice in Brooklyn in May 2020 have reached a plea agreement with prosecutors following months of negotiations.
Colinford Mattis, who has been suspended without pay from Pryor Cashman pending the outcome of the criminal proceeding, and tenants’ attorney Urooj Rahman are set to plead guilty to one count of possessing or making a destructive device, which carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison.
