Details about the closure of Manhattan’s Metropolitan Correctional Center are still scarce eight days after news broke that the facility, where Jeffrey Epstein was found dead and an array of other high-profile defendants have been jailed in recent years, will close in the weeks or months to come.

Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison partner Loretta Lynch, who is acting as mediator in a Brooklyn federal court case relating to legal call access for inmates in the MCC and Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center, said MDC leadership had not been provided with a written plan for the closure as of Tuesday.
