New York lawmakers are expected to extend anti-eviction protections for tenants and make tweaks to the law to address a U.S. Supreme Court ruling that blocked part of the measure last month.
The move by the state Legislature is aimed at helping an estimated 194,000 New Yorkers who say they will face eviction in the next two months, according to recent data from the U.S. Census Bureau.
