The U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York is again requiring masks in all public and non-public areas of the courthouse, walking back earlier guidance that allowed fully vaccinated people to remove their masks in courtroom wells.

In a new order published Friday afternoon, Chief Judge Laura Taylor Swain said that “all persons” must maintain six feet of social distancing and wear face coverings throughout the courthouse, including in hallways, public counters, elevators and courtrooms.
