Steven Donziger, the ex-lawyer who helped win an $8.6 billion oil-pollution judgment in Ecuador against Chevron, was found guilty Monday of six counts of criminal contempt of court that sprung from a fraud-based civil case Chevron launched in Manhattan against Donziger after it lost the Ecuadorian judgment.

Donziger, a Harvard Law graduate whose case has become a major cause for environmental groups and celebrities spanning the globe, will not be sentenced until a later date. He faces up to six months in prison on the six misdemeanor counts.
