U.S. Bankruptcy Judge David Jones of the Southern District of New York on Thursday rejected real estate attorney Mitchell Kossoff’s effort to claim Fifth Amendment privilege amid the involuntary Chapter 7 bankruptcy of his law firm Kossoff PLLC.

Jones previously designated Kossoff as the responsible officer of the debtor, and he found that the law requires the responsible officer to cooperate with the bankruptcy process by providing information on behalf of the debtor.
