As the lateral market for corporate lawyers stays tight and competitive, Monday brought a pair of moves in investment funds and private equity from one leader in the space to two others. Two New York-based partners at Kirkland & Ellis have defected to Big Law competitors Latham & Watkins and Willkie Farr & Gallagher.

William C. “Beau” Brashares joined Latham & Watkins, the latter firm announced Monday, as a partner in the corporate department, in the firm’s investment funds and private equity practices.
