Champion horse-racing trainer Bob Baffert appeared in a Brooklyn federal courtroom Monday alongside his attorneys, who have asked U.S. District Judge Carol Bagley Amon of the Eastern District of New York for a preliminary injunction ending the New York Racing Association’s temporary suspension against his horses entering races in the state.

Amon appeared deeply familiar with the cases and law relevant to the world of horse-racing, often stopping Baffert’s attorney William Craig Robertson III of Wyatt, Tarrant & Combs and New York Racing Association attorney Henry Greenberg of Greenberg Traurig to ask questions during the motion hearing, which lasted more than an hour.
