Cornelius Blackshear, a longtime bankruptcy judge and the first Black person ever appointed to serve as a U.S. trustee, died June 10, his alma mater Fordham Law announced Tuesday. He was 81.
He was remembered Thursday for his life of service and a generous spirit that, his family and friends said, lifted everyone around him.
