U.S. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-New York, said Monday that he had recommended two voting rights attorneys to serve as federal judges on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the federal trial court in Manhattan.

Schumer said on the Senate floor that he had recommended that President Joe Biden nominate Myrna Perez, the director of voting rights and election programs at New York University’s Brennan Center for Justice, to serve on the Manhattan-based appeals court.
