One of the jobs in representing lateral partners in their transition to a new law firm is to make the transition as seamless as possible. In this regard, lateral partners often ask about timing and notice of their departure, what documents they can bring with them upon their departure from their current law firms, and what information can they disclose to their new firms.
In this column we present some hopefully helpful pointers to lawyers and law firms in this process.
