Covington & Burling, one of two Big Law firms hired to conduct an internal investigation on behalf of CBS into sexual misconduct allegations against former CBS CEO Les Moonves, paid out a settlement fee to Moonves after being accused of breaching confidentiality of the investigation, multiple news outlets have reported.

CNBC, citing two sources close to the matter, said in a report that Covington had paid Moonves an undisclosed sum after it was found that the firm failed to protect the identities of witnesses interviewed during the investigation into Moonves.
