The New Jersey Supreme Court has issued a reprimand to a New York attorney after his bookkeeper, working from a branch office in New Jersey, misappropriated $2.7 million from the firm.
The lawyer might have faced stricter punishment if it weren’t for his efforts to facilitate restitution of client funds stolen by the bookkeeper, the Supreme Court’s Disciplinary Review Board said.
