One of New York Chief Judge Janet DiFiore’s final public acts in a pre-pandemic New York was to deliver the 2020 State of Our Judiciary address to a crowd in Albany’s Court of Appeals Hall.

In the 2021 version of the address Tuesday, which was delivered by video like so many other events in the preceding year, DiFiore recognized the series of abrupt changes court personnel undertook starting in March and explained which changes introduced in 2020 are likely to become part of the post-pandemic state court system.
