President Joe Biden will likely look to New York’s deep bench of experienced federal judges in the coming weeks to fill at least one of two vacancies on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, experts said, after two members of the Manhattan-based appeals court announced that they would be taking senior status.

The move, they said, would be the most efficient way to quickly fill the two openings, left by Judge Robert A. Katzmann, who took senior status in January, and Judge Denny Chin, who announced that he would go senior this summer.
