A pair of notable former New York politicians, convicted in federal court on public corruption charges, found themselves left out of a final wave of pardons and commutations as former President Donald Trump left office Wednesday.
Perhaps the most notable exclusion was that of Democrat Sheldon Silver, the disgraced former speaker of the New York State Assembly, who was reported Monday to be under consideration for a grant of executive clemency.
