New York state lawmakers kicked off a new legislative session Wednesday in the backdrop of a worsening winter coronavirus surge.
The state Legislature will have the opportunity to move on a variety of big-ticket issues this session like marijuana legalization, criminal justice reform and tax increases on the wealthy to help solve the state’s coronavirus budget troubles.
