Attorneys for E. Jean Carroll, the advice columnist and author who sued President Donald Trump for defamation after he rejected her allegations that he raped her in the 1990s, argued that Trump’s attorneys at Kasowitz Benson Torres have engaged in “gamesmanship” by attempting to delay proceedings.

Trump’s Kasowitz lawyers, however, argue that there is nothing the district court can do before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit decides on who should properly defend the case.
