The New York Civil Liberties Union and the Legal Aid Society on Monday sued the city of New York, Mayor Bill de Blasio and several New York City Police Department leaders and officers on behalf of 11 protesters who allege they were abused and wrongly arrested by NYPD officers during protests against police brutality in May and June.
