A 24-year-old woman who suffered severe brain injuries after patio furniture flew off a Manhattan penthouse high above Union Square and allegedly crashed onto her has launched a negligence suit against the billionaire lease-holders of the penthouse, the company that owned the condominium building and, by extension, its billionaire co-owner, the building itself, and its high-value luxury management company.

The defendants include GR Realty Holdings, which is co-owned by Michael Rubin, a billionaire e-commerce entrepreneur who also co-owns the Philadelphia 76ers and the New Jersey Devils sports franchises; and Henrique Dubugras and Pedro Franceschi, leaseholders of the duplex penthouse, who together are co-founders of Brex, a corporate credit card company that Forbes has valued at $2.6 billion.
