A Brooklyn Family Court judge found that he cannot order the removal of a 15-year-old’s DNA from a New York City DNA index because of his court’s limited jurisdiction, though reform efforts could provide new guidance.
The teenager, identified in court records as Logan C., was represented by the Legal Aid Society, which has long advocated against the DNA indexing of children and people not convicted of crimes.
