A federal judge on Tuesday gave Justice Department attorneys three more weeks to provide a full accounting of the false statements that led the Manhattan U.S. Attorney’s Office to retract key arguments it made in court defending New York’s exclusion from programs intended to expedite international travel.

Citing the importance of ensuring a “comprehensive and accurate” report, U.S. District Judge Jesse Furman of the Southern District of New York granted a request by Associate U.S. Attorney John M. McEnany to postpone the court-imposed deadline from Wednesday to Sept. 4.
