On May 4, 2020, J. Crew Group Inc. and affiliated debtors filed petitions for relief under Chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Code in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia becoming the first major retailer to commence bankruptcy proceedings in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic.
