The U.S. Supreme Court has refused Sheldon Silver’s bid to delay his June 25 sentencing on fraud and corruption charges as attorneys for the former New York General Assembly speaker prepare a high-court appeal.
Associate Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg late Friday denied, without comment, Silver’s request to stay an earlier order by a Manhattan-based federal appeals court allowing the sentencing to proceed.
