Entertainment company Roc Nation has turned to Big Law to help defend it in a recently filed defamation lawsuit arising from a former Philadelphia police officer’s claims that she was defamed in a documentary about hip-hop artist Meek Mill.

According to court records, the company, founded by Jay-Z, has hired Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan to represent it in the lawsuit Williams v. Roc Nation. The suit was filed in early January by ex-Philadelphia police officer Sequeta Williams, who claims that an image of her used in the Amazon Prime documentary “Free Meek” gave the false impression that she was a “dirty and dishonest” officer.
