The New York Attorney General’s Office on Thursday announced that it had completed a consumer protection-focused investigation into pharmacies across the state, finding that 44 out of more than 100 visited during the probe failed to post the costs of drugs as required by law.

Consequently, the office has sent cease-and-desist letters to those 44 pharmacies, giving them 15 days to comply with consumer protection laws that require pharmacies to maintain a list of their prices for the 150 most commonly prescribed drugs, according to an A.G.’s office news release.
