David Oddo of Okun, Oddo & Babbat was sworn in on Monday as the 51st president of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association by Court of Appeals Judge Jenny Rivera. In written remarks, Oddo said that the NYSTLA has recently advocated for stronger rights for cancer patients bringing malpractice claims, expanded access to supplemental insurance coverage for victims of accidents involving uninsured drivers and expanding workers’ rights. “NYSTLA will continue to be a strong voice for victims, patients, and consumers who too often are exploited by powerful special interests, as we keep up the fight to remove any and all obstacles to justice,” Oddo said. Oddo is a 1989 graduate of Touro Law School. In addition to his time in private practice, he also served in the Nassau County District Attorney’s Office.
