The New York Court of Appeals denied an appeal by President Donald Trump on Thursday to grant a stay in proceedings in a defamation lawsuit brought by Summer Zervos, a former contestant on the NBC reality show he hosted, “The Apprentice.”

The decision means discovery proceedings will continue in the case against Trump. Zervos is suing him for defamation after he said publicly that she lied when she made the claim that he sexually assaulted her in 2007.
