ALBANY — State courts in Putnam County will remain closed Thursday due to power outages related to yesterday’s storm, the state’s Unified Court System announced.

More than 18 inches of snow was reported in parts of Putnam County due to Wednesday’s nor’easter, according to the National Weather Service. Late Tuesday, the service issued winter storm watches and warnings for the majority of the state with snowfall rates up to 2 inches per hour, forcing many courthouses around New York to close.
