Douglas Powrie has joined the Vancouver office of Borden Ladner Gervais as a partner and will head the firm’s regional tax practice. In addition to serving regional clients, Powrie is expected to expand the firm’s national tax practice.

Powrie’s legal career spans 21 years. He has been involved in some of the biggest transactions in Canada, including serving as Canadian tax counsel in the 2007 merger of Lundin Mining and Tenke Mining, creating a company valued at more than $5 billion at merger time.
