Former Southern District U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara, who was fired earlier this month after refusing to resign at the Trump administration’s insistence, has taken a position with New York University School of Law as a distinguished scholar in residence.

In a statement posted on NYU Law’s website, Bharara said the new position will allow him to continue addressing issues he cares about: “criminal and social justice, honest government, national security, civil rights and corporate accountability.”
