The economy has remained relatively strong, and firms including Milwaukee’s Quarles & Brady, Chicago’s SmithAmundsen, Cincinnati’s Taft Stettinius & Hollister and others have opened new offices.

To the leader of the city’s largest office, Barnes & Thornburg’s Brian Burdick, the influx of firms leaves the city feeling “a little overlawyered.”
