As the latest law school to make a transition from lecture hall to laptop, Syracuse University College of Law plans to offer a so-called hybrid Juris Doctor program, in which students primarily attend class online.

The law school announced April 19 that it is developing the part-time program, which it expects to launch in early 2018. Students will take classes online then come to campus for a week once or twice a year, said interim law dean William Banks. The program will help reverse the law school’s recent enrollment decline, he said.
