The country’s largest law firms have largely rebounded from the recession, but associate pay has yet to fully recover, according to a law report released Thursday by the National Association for Law Placement.

More than one-third of first-year associates working in firms of more than 700 lawyers—39 percent—are earning $160,000 per year, NALP said. That is up from 27 percent in 2014 but down from the nearly two-thirds who made that salary in 2009.
