David Barlow rejoins the firm this summer as a partner who will represent life sciences clients. Previously, he was U.S. attorney for Utah. Barlow, who originally joined Sidley in 2000, earned his J.D. from Yale Law School.


Daniel Restrepo joins the firm as special counsel to its business and commercial-transactions practice group. Previously, he was a principal adviser to President Barack Obama on Latin America, the Caribbean and Canada. He earned his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.


Claudia Hinsch joins the firm as senior counsel to the ERISA, employee-benefits and executive-compensation group. Previously, she worked at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius. Hinsch earned her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center.


David Higbee, vice chairman of the firm’s global competition team, was named managing partner of the Washington office. Andrea Bear Field, also a partner, steps down from the position to devote more time to her environmental and administrative law practice. Higbee earned his J.D. from George Mason University School of Law, and Field earned her J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law.
