Founded in 1898 as The Chicago Butter and Egg Board, today CME Group provides marketplaces for agricultural commodities and interest rate, equity, government paper and foreign-exchange futures. The company owns 90 percent of Dow Jones & Co. Inc.’s index business, including the Dow Jones Industrial Average.
