Indicted: Former Virginia governor Robert F. McDonnell and his wife, Maureen, were indicted in Richmond federal court on Tuesday, charged with 14 counts of illegally accepting gifts from a wealthy businessman, the Washington Post reports. Attorneys for the couple strongly denied the actions were illegal, calling the case “disgraceful.” The ex-governor is represented by McGuire Woods partner Jerry Kilgore and Maureen McDonnell is represented by Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan partner William Burck.

I Spy: In an interview with The New Yorker, Edward Snowden, the former National Security Agency contractor who leaked hundreds of thousands of pages of classified documents, denied accusations by members of Congress that he was a spy or foreign agent. Snowden said it was “absurd” and that he “clearly and unambiguously acted alone.”
