Davidoff Hutcher & Citron (New York): Richard Gertler joins the firm’s commercial litigation group as partner in the Garden City, N.Y., office and will focus on commercial and bankruptcy litigation, corporate governance and real estate. Previously, Gertler was founding and managing partner at Thaler Gertler.
Dykema Gossett: Robert Boonin joins the labor and employment group as partner in the Detroit and Ann Arbor, Mich., offices. He will focus on labor and employment law. Previously, Boonin was a partner at Butzel Long.
Greenblatt, Pierce, Engle, Funt & Flores (Philadelphia): Tom Marrone joins as partner in the Philadelphia office and will focus on civil ­litigation, including class actions. Previously, Marrone was a partner at Feldman Shepherd.
Latham & Watkins: Nick Benson joins the private-equity group as partner in the London office and will focus on private equity and other funds. Previously, he was a partner at Weil, Gotshal & Manges.
Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison (New York): Scott Sontag joins the firm’s tax department as partner in the New York office and will focus on domestic and international tax transactions. Previously, Sontag was a partner at Weil, Gotshal & Manges.
Sidley Austin: Norman Blears joins the firm’s securities litigation practice as partner in the Palo Alto office and will focus on securities matters, including class actions and enforcement. Previously, Blears was a partner at Hogan Lovells.
Withers Bergman (London): Corrado Manuali joins the firm as head of the Italian desk in the New York office and will focus on mergers and acquisitions, commercial real estate and securities law. Previously, Manuali was a partner at Kranjac Tripodi & Partners.
Jackson Lewis: Gene Marsh joins the firm’s collegiate and professional sports practice as of counsel to the Birmingham office and will focus on collegiate compliance and enforcement. Previously, Marsh was a partner at Lightfoot, Franklin & White.
Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith (Los Angeles): Berj Parseghian joins the firm’s toxic tort and environmental litigation, commercial litigation and products liability practices as partner in the New York office. Previously, Parseghian was counsel to Bingham McCutchen.
McDermott Will & Emery: Laurelle Gutierrez joins the firm’s private-client practice as partner in the Menlo Park, Calif., office and will advise high net-worth individuals and families. Previously, Gutierrez was a partner at Carr, McClellan, Ingersoll, Thompson & Horn.
McGuireWoods: Duncan Getchell joins the commercial litigation practice as partner in the Richmond office and will focus on litigation. Previously, Getchell was solicitor general of Virginia. Additionally, Carlos Muñiz joins the firm as partner in the Jacksonville office and senior vice president at McGuireWoods Consulting. He will consult on consumer-protection issues, government investigations and disputes between states and the federal government. Previously, Muñiz served as deputy attorney general and chief of staff to Florida attorney general Pam Bondi.
Perkins Coie (Seattle): Michael Bender joins the firm’s litigation practice as partner in the Denver office and will focus on commercial and business litigation, white-collar defense, internal investigations and appeals. Previously, Bender served as chief justice of Colorado.
