Jones Walker (New Orleans): Jeffrey Phillips joins the business and commercial litigation practice as partner in the Houston office and will focus on intellectual property. Previously, Phillips was a partner at Winston & Strawn.

Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi (Minneapolis): Eric Magnuson joins the firm’s business litigation practice as partner in the Minneapolis office and will focus on business litigation and appellate law. Previously, Magnuson was a partner at Briggs and Morgan.

Safarian Choi Bolstad (Los Angeles): Kevin Corbett joins the firm’s real estate practice as partner in the Los Angeles office and will focus on transactions. Previously, Corbett was a partner at Davis Wright Tremaine.

Bird, Marella, Boxer, Wolpert, Nessim, Drooks & Lincenberg (Los Angeles): Howard Matz rejoins the firm as senior counsel to and will focus on complex civil litigation and white-collar criminal matters. Previously, Matz served as a U.S. district judge in the Central District of California.

Davis Polk & Wardwell (New York): Avi Gesser rejoins the firm’s litigation department as partner in the New York office and will represent clients in white-collar criminal defense matters and investigations as well as commercial litigation. Previously, Gesser was deputy director of the U.S. Department of Justice’s Deepwater Horizon task force.Debevoise & Plimpton (New York): Min Lee rejoins the firm as counsel to the New York office and will work with the privacy and data security practice. Previously, Lee was vice president and associate general counsel at Penguin Random House LLC.

Goodwin Procter (Boston): Derek Cohen joins the firm’s securities litigation and white-collar defense group as partner in the New York office and will focus on investigations and prosecutions, regulatory matters and commercial litigation. Previously, Cohen was deputy director of the Deepwater Horizon task force at the U.S. Department of Justice.

Holland & Knight: Wanda Whigham joins the firm’s corporate practice as senior counsel to the West Palm Beach, Fla., office and will focus on finance and transaction matters. Previously, Whigham was a partner at Hogan Lovells.

Lowenstein Sandler (Roseland, N.J.): Maureen Ruane rejoins the firm as leader of the firm’s new health care litigation, investigations and compliance practice in the Roseland office and will focus on regulatory and compliance matters. Previously, Ruane served as the chief of the health care and government fraud unit at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for New Jersey.

McGuireWoods: John Servidio joins the firm’s securities department as partner in the Chicago and New York offices and will focus on matters involving capital markets, securities, structured products and Dodd-Frank regulatory reform efforts. Previously, Servidio was vice president and assistant general counsel at Bank of America Merrill Lynch.

Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom (New York): Boris Bershteyn rejoins the firm as of counsel to the New York office and will focus on regulatory and enforcement actions by government agencies, and Supreme Court, appellate and trial-level litigation. Previously, Bershteyn served as the acting administrator of the Office of Management and Budget’s information and regulatory affairs office.

Wiggin and Dana (New Haven, Conn.): David Hall joins the firm’s litigation department as partner in the Philadelphia office and will focus on representing ­clients in the defense, financial, art and health care industries. Previously, Hall served as an assistant U.S. attorney in the Department of Justice.
