Mayer Brown: Lawrence Berkovich joins the firm’s banking and finance practice as partner in the Charlotte, N.C., office and will focus on structured financial transactions, including collateralized loan obligations. Previ­ously, he was counsel to Dechert.

Dickstein Shapiro (Washington): Mark Kresnak joins the firm’s intellectual property practice as counsel to the Palo Alto, Calif., office and will focus on intellectual property portfolio development and counseling, patent prosecution, and intellectual property related transactions. Previously, Kresnak was senior director, intellectual property at Elan Pharmaceuticals Inc.

Fox Rothschild (Philadelphia): James Lemonedes joins the firm as chairman of the New York employment litigation group and will focus on labor and employment matters. Previously, Lemonedes was senior counsel to the New York City Corporation Counsel.

Kaye Scholer (New York): Chaim Gottesman joins the finance department as counsel to the New York office and will focus on structured finance and the federal securities laws, with a particular emphasis on commercial mortgage securitization transactions. Previously, Gottesman was senior vice president and assistant general counsel at CW Financial Services LLC.

Mandelbaum Salsburg Lazris & Discenza (West Orange, N.J.): Paul Vichness joins the firm as of counsel to the West Orange office and will focus on mediation, arbitration and service as discovery master in civil matters. Previously, Vichness was a state judge in Essex County, N.J.

Andrews Kurth (Houston): Todd Culwell joins the firm as partner in the Houston office and will focus on energy infrastructure projects and oil and gas transactions. Previously, he was a partner at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius.

Baker Botts (Houston): David Schiller joins the firm’s tax department as partner in the Dallas office and will focus on advising clients on the tax, ERISA, and securities law ramifications of executive compensation. Previously, Schiller was a partner at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher.

Baker & Hostetler: David Bournazian joins the firm’s litigation group as partner in the Costa Mesa, Calif., office. He will focus on business litigation with an emphasis on employment, health care and real estate. Previously, Bournazian was a partner at Kutak Rock.

Duane Morris (Philadelphia): Bruce Czachor joins the firm’s corporate practice as partner in the New York office and will represent clients in capital-markets transactions. Previously, Czachor was a partner at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe.

Norton Rose Fulbright: Brian Devine joins as partner in the New York office and will focus on maritime law. Previously, Devine was a partner at Blank Rome.

K&L Gates: William Holmes and Teresa Hill join the energy and infrastructure projects and transactions practice as partners in Portland, Ore. Holmes will advise clients on energy law matters. Hill will advise on power purchase agreements, and environmental compliance and permitting. Previously, they were partners at Stoel Rives.

Stradling Yocca Carlson & Rauth (Newport Beach, Calif.): Jeffrey Dinkin joins as partner in the Santa Barbara, Calif., office and will represent management in labor and employment matters. Previously, Dinkin was a partner at Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton.

Winston & Strawn (Chicago): William Lang joins the firm’s real estate practice as partner in the New York office and will focus on commercial real estate transactions and financing. Previously, Lang was a partner at Nixon Peabody.
