Carter Ledyard & Milburn (New York): Avinash Ganatra joins the firm’s corporate department as partner and will focus on capital markets, securities and leveraged finance transactions. Previously, Ganatra was a partner at Squire Sanders.

Cooley (Palo Alto, Calif.): Wendy Goldstein joins the firm’s health care and life-sciences regulatory practice as partner in the New York office and will focus on counseling pharmaceutical clients in regulatory matters. Previously, Goldstein was a partner at Epstein Becker & Green.

Drinker Biddle & Reath (Philadelphia): Theodore Becker joins the firm’s employee-benefits and executive-compensation practice group as partner in the Chicago office and will serve as chairman of the firm’s national employee-benefits and ERISA litigation team. Becker will focus on litigation matters and regulatory agency investigations. Previously, Becker was a partner at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius.

K&L Gates: Michael Bryan and Julius Hines join the firm as partners in the Charleston, S.C., office. Bryan joins the corporate mergers-and-acquisitions practice and will focus on corporate and securities matters. Hines joins the commercial-disputes practice and will focus on casualty and litigation work. Previously, Bryan was a partner at Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough, and Hines was a partner at Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice.

Quarles & Brady (Milwaukee): James Kaplan joins the firm’s corporate services group as partner in the Chicago office and will focus on financial services and regulatory matters. Previously, Kaplan was a partner at DLA Piper.

Shearman & Sterling (New York): Jeremy Dickens joins the firm’s private-equity practice as partner and will focus on mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and securities offerings. Previously, Dickens was a partner at Weil, Gotshal & Manges. Additionally, Bjorn Bjerke joins the firm’s finance practice as partner in the New York office and will focus on secured financing and derivatives. Previously, Bjerke was a partner at Davis Polk & Wardwell.

Troutman Sanders (Atlanta): Stephen Hall joins the firm’s energy practice as partner in the Portland, Ore., office and will focus on regulatory and commercial issues. Previously, Hall was a partner at Stoel Rives.
