Bricker & Eckler has added three attorneys to its health care group, including partner Steve Kleinman, who joins from Ice Miller.

Also moving to the Columbus, Ohio-based firm is Shannon DeBra as of counsel from UC Health Co. in Cincinnati, where she was chief compliance officer. Joining Bricker as an associate is Beatrice Nokuri, a registered critical-care nurse.

Kleinman practiced for 16 years at Schottenstein Zox & Dunn before it merged with 220-attorney Ice Miller last year. He said the chance to work with Bricker’s bigger health care practice prompted his move. Bricker, with about 140 attorneys, has 42 lawyers in its health care practice.

"I think it’s a fantastic group of highly motivated lawyers," he said.

Ice Miller’s health care practice comprises 23 attorneys. Ice Miller deputy managing partner James Davidson said in an email that Kleinman was "a good lawyer." He added, "We wish him well in his new practice."

Kleinman, who works from the firm’s Columbus office, represents hospitals and other health care employers and focuses on employment law and contracts. His clients have included Select Specialty Hospital and Mount Carmel Health System Co. He received his law degree in 1995 from Ohio State University Michael E. Moritz College of Law.

DeBra’s practice is concentrated in health care regulatory and fraud matters. She works from the firm’s Cincinnati office, and she received her law degree from Boston University School of Law.

Nokuri is awaiting her bar exam results and will practice from the Columbus office. She has nine years’ experience as a registered nurse in Maryland and Virginia.

With offices in Columbus, Cleveland and Cincinnati, Bricker & Eckler serves clients in health care, insurance, financial services, manufacturing, education, construction and real estate.
