Gina Vetere, 39, has joined Covington & Burling’s Washington office as special counsel to the international trade and public policy and government-affairs practices. Previously, she served as executive director of international intellectual property at the U.S. Chamber’s Global Intellectual Property Center. She earned her J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law.

Matthew Friedrich, 46, has joined Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer’s Washington office as partner in the litigation practice. He will focus on white-collar investigations and related litigation for public companies and financial institutions. Previously, he was a partner at Boies, Schiller & Flexner. He earned his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law.
