At age 85, Abe Krash said with sadness that "I’m the last of the Mohicans" the last member of Clarence Earl Gideon’s U.S. Supreme Court legal team who is still alive.
The retired partner at Arnold & Porter still reports for work most days, and says he is glad to be "yanked out of the closet" to recall the Gideon v. Wainwright case at commemorative events like those taking place on this, the 50th anniversary of the landmark decision guaranteeing legal representation to indigent defendants in criminal cases.
