PROMOTIONS TO SPECIAL COUNSEL

Covington & Burling (Washington): Five associates at the firm have been promoted to special counsel.

In the Washington office, Uma Everett is a member of the firm’s litigation and intellectual property groups. Everett specializes in patent and commercial litigation. She received her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 2001. Jessica Parezo is a member of the firm’s litigation and intellectual property groups. Parezo focuses in the areas of strategic patent counseling and prosecution, patent litigation and due diligence. She received her J.D. from George Washington University Law School in 2002. Sarah Hoagland is a member of the firm’s corporate and life sciences practice groups. Hoagland focuses on transactions for pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. She received her J.D. from the University of Georgia School of Law in 2003. Scott Roades is a member of the firm’s corporate group. Roades focuses on mergers and acquisitions, sports transactions, finance, private equity and general corporate advice. He received his J.D. from Boston University School of Law in 1998.

In the New York office, Andrew Hyman is a member of the firm’s corporate group. Hyman focuses on corporate finance and domestic and cross-border financing activities. He received his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 2004.
