Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld: Paul Lin and Kevin McBride join the firm’s corporate and intellectual property litigation practices, respectively, as partners in the Los Angeles office. Lin will focus on serving clients in the technology and consumer electronics industries. McBride will focus on patent and other intellectual property litigation. Previously, Lin and McBride were partners at Jones Day.
DLA Piper: Paul Chen joins the firm’s corporate and securities practice as partner in the East Palo Alto, Calif., office and will focus on cross-border transactions in the United States and Asia, representing strategic and private-equity buyers and sellers in mergers, acquisitions and divestitures. Previously, Chen was a partner at Dewey & LeBoeuf.
