Jeffrey Steiner is the multibillion-dollar man.

As chairman of DLA Piper’s U.S. corporate and finance practice, he has handled, during the past 18 months alone, about $8 billion in structured sales for major investment banks involved in Western European commercial real estate. He’s restructured real estate deals worth billions more involving office buildings, multifamily projects and shopping malls in Europe.

His work has included about $4.5 billion in projects through the Public-Private Investment Fund, an investment stimulus program.

A former name partner at now-dissolved Thelen Reid Brown Raysman & Steiner, he demonstrated keen timing in 2008 by decamping to DLA Piper about three months before his old firm folded, to pursue more cross-border deals using DLA Piper’s international platform.
